pit toilet continues

tuesday we're back at the pit toilet.. another group is painting the nursery and we steadily keep mixing cement and building. given the bricks were hand-made and the moulds were different sizes, they aren't regular shapes (despite our best efforts) which makes it a little trickier to build straight walls. it's a matter of selecting which brick is best suited for each spot and rotating them around until they seem to fit.. given there are so many people in camp with the new 1-monthers there are too many people at each project site and not enough separate jobs delegated which makes the work a little duller..

it's really strange that the 2-monthers are leaving so soon.. and with the camp so busy it's hard to feel like we can spend quality time with them given the rooms are all occupied and there's only one area in which to chill out.. we all sit around after dinner talking, pull out journals to write each other farewell messages.. eventually most of the 1-monthers head to bed so we've got some time to feel like just our group once again (:

wednesday, it's pouring. given the nature of the construction work we're doing it'd be useless to try and cement anything so we spend the morning sitting around the communal area and swapping stories.. more journal writings.. i've always thought it was a nice idea to write messages for people after camps and the such, it's such a nice memento.

in the afternoon it's still drizzling on and off.. a few people head to work on the nursery but sam and i decide to head to leonardo's for ice cream.. i'm kind of in denial about our group leaving and it seems so strange i won't be seeing him again unless i travel to england.. i mean, it's been such an intense 2 months.. not only have we met new people but we've been living with them 24/7.. and to go from that to nothing is so bizarre, especially with regards to sam who i now consider to be one of my best mates. hence a last bit of quality time together seeming to be the best option. we travel by motorbike there and back, get 3 scoops of ice cream each and then decide to get some bruschetta as well (: i'm pretty happy sheltered from the rain under leonardo's big ceiling drapes and try to ignore the fact that by this time tomorrow, they'll all be gone..

Comme quoi il peut y avoir du bon que la pluie empêche de mener à bien certains programmes.!!¨..cela t'a donné un bon moment avec Sam à déguster des ice cream et partager encore un temps de tête à tête!
