2-monthers last weekend

the 2-monther's final weekend continues.. saturday is a standard thieves beach day with many stops along the way to pick up passports, money, belongings, etc.. it's rather depressing. that night we all decide to head to leonardo's for a nice meal together.. the ice cream is unbelievable as always and it's kind of bittersweet to see our whole group looking so nice down the table.. i really don't want them to leave >.< a small group heads out to forty's for the night but i'm way too tired and head back to camp to sleep. ~~ arriving at forty's on sunday morning for standard beach times, we meet up with the people who stayed out last night, still dressed in yesterday's clothes and looking a little worse for wear.. turns out they ended up just sleeping on the couches.. it's a sunny day so i spend a while on the floating platform with olly, sam and quant.. it seems really weird that it's their last weekend here. that night we decide to try out shakattack, a local club recommended to us by the waiters at leonardo's and some travelers on the beach. beforehand, chris sets up a challenge: eat a dry cracker as fast as you can, then chew two chillies for a full minute, 1 min later eat a spoonful of hot mustard, 1 min later eat a spoonful of cinnamon. only 3 people are brave/stupid enough to participate and the results are pretty amusing - not only are the chillies quite hot but mustard inflames the sinuses and cinnamon totally dries out your mouth. d, miranda and david all pull horrendous faces as they choke everything down. well done team. shakattack is the most club-like place we've been to in diani and is unexpectedly full for a sunday night. we socialize with the locals and entertain ourselves sliding on the incredibly slippery waxed dance floor (: [thanks to george for the photos]
